Carnival
A month and half of entertainment all over the island, but the main events are in Castries. Parades, soca music, live bands, costume & beauty contest.
The highlight of the celebration takes place, usually during the second week in July beginning on the weekend and ending on Tuesday (Monday and Tuesday are public holidays). Get there one week before or at least by Friday before the Monday and Tuesday parades.
Saturday evening to Tuesday night the city of Castries transforms into a large street party. Different competitons through the weekend.
Right after the competitions (Monday morning), everyone heads off to the streets of Castries for the ultimate street party and Jour Ouvert (predawn jump up which starts at 4:00 am).
